Parallax
Parallax is a project on album design. For Type & Image (DES310), we were prompted to create a full vinyl album spread, complete with a tracklist and album information.
This band, Tetragma, and album Parallax, are mock names. All images were sourced using Google.
Process
Although this project was very brief, I did visual research using Pinterest, and sketched/ideated using Procreate. I used Wikipedia to do come up with a name for the band and album using their 'random article function.' I also used the random article function to come up with the tracklist, by randomly pulling lines from each of the articles it chose for me.
Concept & Design
By using a randomized name for the album and band, I was able to use imagery that would play along. One of them being the Tetragma gei moth, which you can see featured on the inside panels of the vinyl album. I also chose indie/alternative as my genre for this band, so primarily did visual research keeping that genre in mind.
